Default tC Amp installs? good idea/bad idea?

Alright so I've got 2 Alpine V12 amps and a CDT HD 10" sub just sitting in my apartment and I've decided that I want to install this stuff in my tC. I was thinking amps installed under the seats but the floor isnt even and I couldnt fit the amps where they would sit flat. So I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on actually drilling the amps into the sub box itself. The one would fit perfect on the back and other on the top or side. No matter how I install this stuff I need to still have trunk space and usability for my work stuff. Here are pics of the goods, any opinions?

Default Easy to lift

Hey, i used to do that, untill my accord got broken into... made it way to easy for them to lift them outta the trunk. now, i mounted the amps hanging from the soft deck, re-inforced with some wood to mount it too... just takes a few minutes to disconnect if i need the soft deck gone

Your right on the theft factor.. As for mounting them to the soft deck thats not a bad idea. Have any pics handy?

another thing to consider is if that box isn't braced correctly then your amps are going to be jittered a lot. this does stress the internals and has been known to kill amps prematurely.

Just a thought.

I've seen that a bunch of people are putting amps under the floor in the storage bin in the trunk. I would think that it might get a little toasty in there over the summer otherwise I'd be doing that.. Anyone with this type of install encounter any over heating problems?

I am not sure what the dimensions of those amps are, but I got an e4300 and an e1400D under the passenger and driver seat with a little "english".

the one amp fits fine, the other would sit over that bar in the floor.. Did you take your seats off to run the wiring? Also did you run the power through the center console area or through the sides of the car?

I never liked the idea of having amps under the seats....just doesn't seem very safe or practical.....what do you do for minor tweaking or adjusting?

with the seats in their normal position I dont think you could see the amps so unless you knew they were there I wouldnt say they are any easier to steal

not saying they'd be easier to steal.....just doesn't seem practical.......possibility of wires getting pinched.....terminals touching and shorting on the seat rails.....peoples feet kicking them........just not something I"d want to do.....

I have my amp under my seat and its about the size of the little amp of yours and you cant kick it unless you really try and you can't see it unless you get on the floor.
