Default tC box and amp options?

Hey there. I have two new 12" Alpine "E" subs and now have to look for an amp and some sort of setup for the back of my car. I searched high and low and only found a handfull of different sub setups in tCs. Anybody have any suggestions on custom boxes and which amp to get. I got a quote from sound advice for a box that still lets the rear seat recline but i thought $400 bucks was ludicrous for that. Let me know ANY ADVICE you have. And post pics too. Thanks

That's the problem....I actually like to use my trunk space. I'm thinking about either a powered sub, like the Infinity Basslink or maybe a 10" in one of those boxes/wedge they use to put behind the seats in a truck

if you have 2 12" subs......forget about space....the only option to same room would be 1)firing to subs toward eachother in fiberglass enclosures molded to the sides of your hatch....2)an isobarik setup.....or 3) a custom setup in your spare tire well......PM me if u wanna talk some-more

don't think there's any way to have 2 12s and still be able to retain much of the trunk area. even if you had them firing towards eachother with them mounted by each fender, that's still a lot of space required for a 12. sell them and get some 10s. :D

If i was looking at space.....I'd go with one big 10" and about 600-800 watts on it in a fiberglass enclocure molded to the tire well.....you could get enough air volume in there...

since i don't own a tc, i don't know how much space there is. but i think that is the best route. just not sure how comfortable Tampa is about losing the spare.

i'd like to see. i plan on getting the tc for my gf and i'll be looking around for ideas. the tc throws a lot of "traditional" ideas out because the rear seats recline.

I realize that no matter what I do I will have very little or no use of my trunk w/out going into the spare tire well. I really want the cheapest custom setup that will leave me some room and preferably still let my rear seats recline. But I dont wanna spend a thousand bucks doing that. Is that unreasonable or impossible? Any suggestions help. I really dont wanna just get one of those pre-built boxes w/ the ugly color carpet, but if thats my only option - OH I hope its not.

Hey what would a setup in the spare tire well cost? I still dont really get what the isobarik setup is. Is it still in a box or what? I really like the fiberglass setups but they tend to be pretty pricey. All i want is a setup that leaves space, is cheap, and looks cool and clean. Also I need advice on an amp. I have two Alpine Type E 12"s, each 600watt, but only 200watts(BMS??)-whatever its called. Do I need a two or four channel? Do i need a 200watt or a 400watt amp? Which brand is the best product for the price. Also in my setup I would prefer to have the aml showing somehow. I was thinking in school today to have one amp like jutting out from each corner of the where the rear-seat and the side of the car come to an angle. Go i know nothing about this crap! Help me OUT!!!

i'm guessing 600 watts max, 200 rms. how much were you looking to spend on an amp?

hmmm....dont take this the wrong way but i think you should have asked before buying anything. i dont really know anyway to get 2 12s in a spacesaving box while looking cool and not costing a lot. unless you know someone who can do it for you then i doubt itll be cheap. plus you still need an amp and a place to put it. theres a lot to designing a decent system. it can get hectic

mounting in the tire well will be expensive...mainly because it will entale fiberglass....unless you know someone......I'm still saying go with the isobarik......what you need to do is get a box(preferably a cube actually) made for ONE of your 12" subs. Then take that box and center an extra 12" sub hole directly behind the one that's already there. mount the subs so they face opposite directions. Your box will end up lookin something like this only if you take the sub inside the box and move it to the left wall.

but then where is he gonna mount the box itself? the subs will still take up the same amount of space only they will befacing eachother. your best bet for space saving would be spare tire or on the sides of the trunk

no.....the box for the subs will be taking up half the amount of space they regularly would......and the subs will be facing away from eachother.....hince "opposite directions" in my previous post....
