Okay could someone please help me understand this all. I'm really lost. I was playing with the radio in my moms Aztec which has RDS (Radio Data System) and it displays the call letters of the stations, the song name, the singer, and the type of music. I've researched it and it started in the UK and has made its way over the big pond. If thats RDS, what is radio text and what does it do? I want something like this in my car, and I'm completely willing to get a new deck to do this. Do I want text, RDS, or something completely different? Please help me

(And btw, I dont want to yank at GM radio out of the junkyard either. thats not an option)

what you want is an rds equipped head unit.
kenwood makes several, im sure other companies do as well.

cd text is another can of worms altogether.
although most rds radio's will also include cd text compatability.

 

CD text is text put on a cd when it is burned(or manufactured... very few of these, but some are... System of A Down does it) that shows track names, artists, cd title... It's good stuff.
