Default Tick in the front speakers?

Has anyone experience a ticking noise coming from the front speakers? I havent pin pointed which ones but Im pretty sure its the tweeters. It sounds like an audio tick (for any of you audio engineers out there) and it just bugs the hell out of me.

No ticking, just rattles when the volume is high.

I don't know what a tick is, but sometimes I hear a static type sound coming from the front upper dash speakers. I just thought it was the station I'm on.

Are you sure it's not a gnat? JK

Have you added/modified anything in the sound system?

We have 2 2005 xBs. Mine is the 2.0 R.S. and it came with Sirius satellite radio, When I tune into a talk or news show, I hear a tick too but not on the music channels. My wife has a basic 2005 xB and she has no tick (also no Sirius Satellite Receeive) but has a rattle in the tweeter on the passe3nger side dash. I've heard others in our Scion club complain about similar stuff. One more refinement needed for an inexpensive car, I suppose.

I have noticed when a cd has minor imperfections the audio crackles a bit.

Could this be your tick?

Yeah I have noticed that if it's low grade MP3's (128k) used to create CD's you'll notice ticks. Also if the media has some surface damage, not enough to prevent play, but enough to sound like a damaged record.

I get it on burnt media more often then pressed media....

I've heard this static or tick occasionally from the front speakers in my tc. Cant be sure if its due to the HU, my CD or the speakers, I'll be replacing the stock HU soon and if its the speakers I'm definitely gonna get them replaced under warranty.

I think it s the tweets-maybe we're just pushing them too hard and they're distorting.

I had a similar problem too. A tick/static noise will come up every now and then, as if like if the wires on the front speaker are lose. Checked it and found nothing. However when i replace my HU with an aftermatket HU (Sony CDX-F7710), The stock speaker especialy in the dash and front door panels sound awsome. Maybe because the new HU has 7-band EQ setting, plus it had other sound enhancing features that the stock HU doesn't have. How the static/tick noise disapear? I asumed it might be the Stock HU.
