Default True PINK and UV Gauges *PICS*

okay, so the test batch arrived from the manufacturer for pink and uv LED's. I have tested them out on an xb, and also an 06 GSX-R 750.

Here are some pics.

Here are the Pink LED's. You can see they are the same as the pink 3mm LED's I have.

Here are the pink gauges on the xb.

And pink on the Gixxer.

The pink came out very nice in person! Those who are interested, I highly recommend it!

Now for the UV LED's.

These, unfortunately, were a dissapointment. I really wanted them to look good, which they did, but they were so dim.

It is a little brighter than shown in this picture, but not by much.

I adjusted the camera setting to accept more light. It was not this bright, nor was it this blue.

On the Gixxer:

Let me know what you think.

-Paul

P.S. I also added some pictures of the xb gauges to my website. Now I have all the colors available to see (Blue, White, Red, Green, Orange, Pink, UV).

I haven't tested the UV LED's in the daytime. They were too dim at night.

Well, seeing as how humans can't actually see UV, the fact that UV LEDs are dim should come as no surprise. If you want real disappointment, try the IR LEDs.

In order to get any kind of use out of the UV LEDs, you need something fluorescent. Trying to get that to work with UV backlighting might be kinda tricky, but might also be fun to play around with, if you're in the mood for that kinda thing.

The pink LEDs are hella sweet.

I'm actually thinking about talking to chadfo to see if he can make a stock looking uv reflective gauge overlay. I think this would be a great solution.

Paul

P.S. Yes, IR LED's would not be visible at all!

shame shame! Lol! I actually have a business deal with a manufacturer overseas. They custom made me these LED's, and this is the first batch for testing.

If you would like to buy some, let me know.

Sure, I can do that. I just did some gauges on an escalade (actually a silverado with escalade gauges). PM or e-mail me and we can talk more.
