Man, I was thinking the same thing. Install the new thinnner PS2 and add a couple of monitors. Two birds knocked out at once since the PS2 also plays DVDs.

Aux inputs or an FM modulator that accepts RCA input. Either of which can be found at Circuit City or Best Buy, or a number of places online.

I have the new ps2 and the old one... i put the old one in my xB because it has the motorized cd tray and the new ps2 has a flip top style. It works great until I get my carputer installed.

I guess I wasn't the only one thinking this. If I ever got the headrests, I would get the thinner PS2. I've seen commercials, but haven't seen a price? How much? Only problem, where would you put the PS2? I was daydreaming of getting a fiberglass setup for it, but still ehhh about the location.

By the time I actually have money for this mod, PS3 will probably come out and that thinner PS2 will be cheaper.

Thank you.

the new PS2 is better at keeping your disc in place than the older one... if you're only playing at a stop, both are good, but the new one is good if you want to play while driving (for your kids and such). also, the new PS2 runs on 8.5v DC so all you need is a voltage regulator, rather than with the older one you're converting your cars 12v dc to 110 ac, then the PS2 converts it back to DC... very in efficient.

You can get a really good DVD player cheaper than a PS2.

Blaupunkt (blue Dot) is probably the most under-rated electronics company.... the Sig to noise ratio on most of their stuff rivals alpine, and the RMS output of their head unit is usually several watts higher than other leading companies.... the biggest pluss is they're cheap on ebay... :D

It's too big, doesn't play games and is only 10 bucks less than a used ps2 after shipping.

It's not that innefficient. I have both systems, the old ps2 and the new one... I put the old one in my car running off of an inverter.
