Default tweeters in roof

On of the first mods I did to my Box I just thinking about posting is I put tweeters in my roof. I don't have my box right now its in the shop so I'll have to post pics later. ****************This does require cuting the head liner*****************

What I did was put some flush mount tweeters in the roof where they should have put the dome light in the front ( on the roof behind the rear view mirror). You have to take a part the plastic panel and use a hange or somthing to pull the wire thru.

Cut a small X in to the roof liner with an knife and keep attempting to push the tweeter through *be gental as the roof liner is weak and may bend and leave a seam. The hole doesn't have to be perfect as the lip around most flush mount tweeters will cover the imperfections.

Once they fit run the wire down the a pillar and to the back of the radio and tap them in to the front dash speaker wires.

they sound great they make a big diffrence in the quality of the sound in the Box. My kicker tweeters were old and didn't work good so I put in some cheap tweeters that cost about fifteen dollars for now, but they still sound great.

Also I have a set of CDT components in the front and the crossovers have room for what CDT calls reference tweeters, so I ran the tweeters to the crossovers and they sound even cleaner.

Now I have tweeters on the roof angled toward the driver and pasenger 3.5 coaxil in the dash and the CDT componet in the doors. Sound tight and if you change to and after market radio it sounds even better.

Lastly if you mess on the cutting, even if you don't I cut a rectangle out of some fake blue diamond plate floor matt plastice I got from pep boys and it fits right in the little area where the tweeters go so. Then take a razor and cut the tweeter holes out and stick the whole thing on the roof.

The finish product will look like 2 tweeters flush mounted into diamond plate mount to the roof. I'll post some pics of mine when I get the XB back.
