Underbody Lighting: LED vs. Neon
Can anyone exlpain the pro's and con's of each? I've seen a few pictures of LEDs in use, and it's hard to tell if people just don't know how to take a good picture, or if they really don't illuminate so well. I don't think it makes too much difference, but I'm mostly interested in amber. Any help would be much appreciated!
Leds - shine 1 direction
Neons - Glow
Leds - Brighter
Neons - Semi-Bright but illuminate rather then point at 1 thing.
If your real low to the ground it will look like a bunch of circles on the ground. Where as neons wont.
The LED kits are brighter so thats there selling point. I put an LED kit pointing sideways on my car with a neon kit next to it.

neon break easier and when the tube breaks its thru. Led on the other hand if you crack or break the tube they will still work. Also you could ge color changing led kits, Plus Led can blink, scan or run a lot of patterns.
leds are brights, last longer, better color combinations, more directional.
neons, have better dispersion, breakable, very little color combination, short life.
Im happy with my Varad lights, I installed them at a slight angle right behind the jack points under the car. You can hardly tell they are LEDs becuase its not facing directly into the ground.

What brand of LEDs does everyone get, Just the 'ol standard street glow? The one thing I hate about SG is the control box thing looks so cheap... and will look dumb just about anywhere you put it. Anyone think it would be easy (ok.. maybe not easy, but feasible) to ditch the actual box, and have the buttons installed somewhere in the dash maybe?...perhaps even use some aftermarket buttons instead? Gimme your thoughts.. positive or negative
