Rice is a derogatory term used to describe modifications to cars that most people don't like because they are gaudy, poorly done, or loud to the ears or eyes.

scionlife uses the word rice for everything...im so sick of hearing it but now i no longer care, because the mentality of this board is the glass is not half full, but half empty. i dont care what it is but everything is negitive on this board. The fact that you even posted that u want underglows just gave the people in here the chance to yell rice. So do what you like but id go to a more unbias board to get real opinions of car parts

The word "rice" as defined by www.urbandictionary.com is:

1. rice

An automobile that has been equipped with gawdy, unnesecary accessories, such as 3' high spoilers, loud and/or repulsive paint job and body work. Owners of such automobiles feel that these accessories make their car the best in the world, when in fact it is not.

Example:
That Prelude over there is nice, but this here Civic ain't nothin but a ric mobile

I have a set of Optx lights on my xB. 7 differnt colors and lots of flash patterns.

IMO its only ricey if the tube is showing and stuff. otherwise i installed mine in about an hour and love it. some states you cant drive with them on but in NC you can. it cant strobe, be blue or red. so i roll in either green, purple, or white, or yellow

To each his/her own

My ICE LED are WAY brighter then Neon. 2 Million colors doesn't hurt either.

Not at all! They look nice on any car and there is no reason to call them ricey. That's just silly. Get them. Turn them on everynight and enjoy them.

BETTER THAN STREETGLOW... AND A SPONSOR OF THIS PLACE! The FlowLighting Blaze kit:

I dont feel that they are ricey if they are done right! I hate when you can see the actual tube, you want to see the glow not the ugly plastic tube. Also ICELED is the neatest undercar kit i have ever seen... need to pawn a right nut to afford it but its very nice.

do it for yourself and not what other people think of it. there's always people who will disagree to what your doing to "YOUR" car...as long as you like it..right!

mine...

I've got em on my xB after wanting underglows for every car i've ever had i finally got them on a car. just to take them off. one broke , and another tube's mount is broken( well one of em is )

besides even tho white technically is legal in the WORD of the law it's still illegal in the "intent" of the law. so i only used em in parking lots and such. pretty lame. i'll gut em and save myself that extra 5 -15 pounds of crap i added to my car.

I think underbody lights and lights period can be "nice" and NOT "rice"...

as long as it is done well, and not like all different colors and just thrown everywhere. As long as there is some sort of scheme to it all. I have a White xB, w/Chrome graphics, and I am going to do white underbodies...and hopefully soon down the road, a fog machine and some strobe to create a lightning effect in the fog.

...but again, as long as it is done right and has some sort of scheme to it all, it will look nice. And cops won't bother you unless you have strobes on while you are driving, or red or blue underbodies.
