Default Underhood Cathode Question

I put cathodes under my hood and they won't stick...they keep coming off and falling....My question is what is the best thing to use to stick them to the metal under the hood to keep them there permanently?

I have not had a problem with my cathodes sticking. Did you prepare the surface before using the double stick tape? What type of tape are you using?

Get the good 3M grey double sided tape. It'll hold practically anything. Also wipe the area you are going to stick to with alcohol or some type of solvent to make sure it's clean.

Hmm... nothing to zip tie them too... hmm...

I know! Holes in the hood! Bring out the drill!

J/K. Use the strong grey tape chad mentioned. It's usually covered with a red plastic. I've seen it used to put body kits on. Just make sure the stuff you get will hold up to the heat.

This stuff is awesome! You can get it at Lowe's, Home Depot, Pep Boys and Ace among others. I used it to mount all my cold cathodes in the engine compartment and have not had any problems at all. 3M Exterior Mounting Tape, Super-Strong, 5 Lb Capacity, Gray/Red Liner

Default Dude............... SILICONE!!!!

prepare the area you want them to stick to, (make sure all the cathodes have silicone around them so they wont blow out when you put water on them) all you need is a small dab of silicone just use enough. put it in the area you want to mount them and hold the CC in place for awhile or you can use masking tape and let them set over night. (Next day) carefully remove the masking tape and no need for zip ties. Trust me i have three cathodes in my engine bay no problems yet.

I am also using the exterior adhesive double-sided tape for my underhood cathodes. It's held perfectly for 2 months so far.
