Quick question, has anyone integrated a nav system into their dash? Like a TomTom? Or one of those portable navs.. If so let me see pics because i wanna do so but dont know where to place it in the dash, somewheres else...

i would really like to fab a fiberglass panel that fits in the passenger side cubby. Maybe make one with a inlayed nav that is angled towards the driver

Why not just get the AVIC D3 it integrates nicely into the das is as simple as any other stereo to install and has Aux inputs for additional players?

Im not sure if this is as integrated as your hoping for, but this is my set up with a Garmin

I just mounted it by the left tweeter ontop of the dash. I cut i hole in the plastic (useing a kitchen knife by the way) and ran the cigarette lighter chord through it. I installed a new outlet under the dash that the chord plugs into.

I think it came out well especially since its wired into a powersource that is only hot when the car is on so my unit turns on and off with the key.

p.s. if you cant understand what i did from looking at the pic because its zoomed in on the garmin, let me know and ill take a new one.

hmm, i suppose you could cut a square the size of the screen behind the sterring wheel so you could see it between your hands. smooth the edges somehow and then like glue it or something behind it. Yes i realize tha is the most ghetto sounding idea ever but what ever. Good luck figuring it out.

Another option - which you probably won't go with but i wanted to put it on the table - is to install a carputer that you can use for navigation, music, etc. www.mp3car.com has a ton of people who have done it and the results are amazing. i know it's not as easy to install/integrate as one of those portable gps units but it allows you to do much more.

just a thought,
