I know Sylvania is right at about 4000K (HID is 4100K). Not sure about the others. Natural sunlight is 4780K (or damn close... I forget exactly).

The BLUE fake looking lights are well down in the 3K light spectrum. Stick right about 4K and you will be right in the zone you want --- all the 5K 6K 7K + + are just sales gimmicks and are exactly what you DON'T want.

Slyvania Xtravision for 9005/9006 bulbs. For more output, you can retrofit HIR2 bulbs in the housings. There was a post on this earlier.

All that hyperwhite stuff is crap. Anything with a filter on the bulb will reduce output. It is simply how filters work, letting a certain spectrum of light through and reflecting all others back. End of story.

Daylight at noon is equivalent to 5300 Kelvin. 4780 Kelvin kits would look nice, but I would recommend something in the 4300 kelvin area to keep the blue out. Window tint has it backwards, the lower "temperature" lights (less than 4300 Kelvin) are yellow. the higher the "temerature" the more you get into the blue and purple hues. Do you have the stock fog lights? if so I would suggest adding a set of pencil beam driving lights to the lower grill. with both fog (wide shallow beam pattern) and Driving (narrow long beam pattern) you will increase your lumen output substantially with out using higher wattage (illegal) headlights.

I have PIAA 4700K bulbs, just got them a few days ago. I used to have HID's on my previous car and let me tell you, These bulbs coupled with my foglights rival the HID system on my STi.

I have the PIAA blubs also and while I do not think they help me see any more area the light is whiter and when I traded in my old box last week when I was taking them out to do the trade in I parked in front of a while wall and I could tell they were much whiter than the 'yellowish I saw from the stock light which is still pretty white compared to most OEM lights. I also stood in front of the car and could tell a noticable difference

They did however do a story on these aftermarket bulbs at overboost and it showed that it is really in our head I guess and they do not make any 'extra' light but for me just them being whiter helps a little.

H4s are what you have in there stock. they are a direct replacement. Like others I would definitely recommend the piaa lights if you're not worried about them being "illegal"

Although I have HID in the box,I have used a lot of different bulbs in many cars.
I usually go with Silvania Silverstars.I have always been satisfied with them. Not to mention they wont burn up you harness or your housing.
PIAA's are ok,probably my second choice.

I ran some piaa's when I first bought the XB and then the Silverstars and then the supreme powers ones that had a group buy on this site they are the brightest of the three but they do show a little blue during the day when the lights are off and blue reflects from the bulb

Well what do you want blue or bright, you can't have both. Non-HID blue lights have a filter on them which will reduce output as mentioned above.

jmiller is absolutely correct....

Go with Silverstars.... they also have a "Blueish" bulb....

But, realize that most of the "Blue" bulbs will cut your light output and are not DOT legal as well....
