Default What do you think of this flip down kit?

I'm in the market for Flip down Monitor Package. And have heard a couple good things about Accelevision. So i'm wondering if this is a good deal, or is there any better sites to buy from cheaper. But I'm thinking of ordering this and maybe later some visor mounted monitors. But I want something bigger than headrest monitors for "MarioKart Double Dash" split screen. Also does anyone know if the Accelevision Player will play DVD-R's? Any thoughts on this?

Thanx,

Default Stick with name brands

Hey chino, I too am in the market and have been told to stick with the name brands whne it comes to screens, I've heard that a lot of the no name brands picture is crappy, not very clear, poor quality, etc... Pioneer, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, Panasonic...More money I know but well worth it so I here.

I love my Accelvision headrests. The picture is better than others I've seen in Scions.

So the Accelvision are good monitors? I've read here and there and no one that has them seem to have any problems with them. I'm just curious about the quality of the flip downs?

MY friends bought a blaupunc dvd set up from fry's electronics, the dvd player ____ the bed and went bad, I put in a accele vision dvd player and they love it in fact the the blau is back from repair and they don't want to put it back in. My 8.4 has better clarity and resolution, than the 13 inch they baught from fry's. I have the the accele 8.4 flip down and the din size dvd player in my xb since january and have had no problems, then again I have been deal ing with accele for over 13 years and use thier alarms exclusively. I carry thier whole product line and have a few pieces on my website. www.scionspecialties.com it is good stuff. Bill Turner dba Scion Specialties

Also remember that most of the companies don't make their own screens. There are only, about, 3 companies making them.

Things to look for:
Resolution, the higher the better.

Make sure it isn't a refurb. A lot of the cheaper monitors (not lower price, cheaply made) were used in japanese gambling machines. When the machine is serviced, the screens are taken out and sold cheap. This is where you get the lower resolution monitors with brightness problems from.

So do some research, compair a lot of monitors in the same size range and you'll start noticing that ones from Sony, Accell, Boss, whoever have the same specs. This is because, a lot of times, they have the exact same screen in them it's just the housing that's different.
