A Rottweiler in the front seat.

It has a built-in proximity sensor, friend/foe identification, is self-arming, and automatically marks those who tamper with your car by tearing off one of their limbs.

You can even leave the windows down!

HTH!

Seriously, the alarm systems that thieves fear most are those that are obviously home-brewed. They have no way of knowing how such a system works (most thieves have experience as alarm system installers, remember and know all the commercial systems!) and no way of knowing if the person who made the system included some exotic feature not normally found in commercial systems (like tear gas or flame throwers!).

My parents old accountant had a Porsche 911. He didn't have an alarm, but he did have a python in the backseat named Bertha...he used to feed it chickens...

Im about to install wireless cameras in there with motion detectors. Have them do a live feed to my comp. Is there like a kill switch that i can buy, like something that will prevent the car from getting stolen?

all the installers in form had said it bfore and we will say it again, It is not the brand but the quality on the installation, and that goes on to say who installed it for you.look for these feature.

Starter bypass or starter kill(car won't start with the alarm armed)

siren and horn honk ( the more noise the better)

do they use door tiggers(not currert sense) the way to tell is shut off the dome light at the over head switch. arm the alarm and open the door, it better be making some noise. if not take it back and demand they use door triggers.

code hopping remotes, not a nesscessity but nice to have.

two stage shock sensor. it will have a warn away (chirps from the siren). Then full blown siren and horn.

passive arming and door locks

LED mounted in a location that is seen all around the car.

Ask to see a pre wired alarm before installation, it should have all the wires going to different parts of the car run together and camoflouged with black tape or loom.

discuss the mounting location and how are they going to mount it, jam it in place, tie wraps.

See if the installers have any certification, Namely MECP.
ask for references.

If I have missed any my fellow installers or alarm owner fell free to add.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, scionspecialistvegas. I have been doing installations professionally now for 6 years. I recently installed a Viper 791XV in my 04' Hot Lava. I took 2 and a half days to do it, but be sure of this. It has every bell and whistle that I need, and then some.

i'd recommend shock sensor and a gbs glass break sensor and maybe even a vibration sensor depending on how paranoid u are.

if we could lock our glove boxes, i'd suggest putting a siren inside it.

nothing like getting deaf to deter a person that wants to steal stuff from a car or the whole thing.

i think the best car alarm would buy someone to stand by your car and make all the car alarm noises when someone comes close to it....cost alot but it would be cooler then ____ man
