Default What's special about this? 56k Cool

What makes this little customization special?

Is it the custom shift ****? No....

Is it the carbon fiber shift boot? No...

Is it the Coolwater in the console tray? Maybe, but No...

Its that this is an Automatic not a Manual Trasmission!

Comments?

NCBOX, The pastic ring aroung the base is the same for the manual and auto. You either need to get a wire ring for under the base or make one as I did with an old coat hanger. Remove the shifter and cut the overdrive switch wire (relocate with new switch). Remove the junk that tell you what gear your in. I had to cut about 6 inches off the shift rod and walla, installed a spring loaded **** made for an automatic.

hayalex6, Thank you for your words of encouragement. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! And just so you comprehend, I am married, which means I have to think of someone else and not just myself... that is why I own an automatic.

A very clever mod, which may accidentally, prevent theft because the thief may spend alot of time looking for a clutch pedal. Which in turn will give you those extra seconds to charge with a bat ..

Otherwise it looks cool, have fun messing with your friends.

Get the stick out of your butt. It's great that you made your automatic look like a stickshift, must make the valet's go nuts thinking there's no clutch pedal.

And the reason why you own an automatic is because you're married? Don't be so condescending, I didn't mean my comment to be so harsh in your eyes.

That's the easy part what about the O/D button? I heard that people were having problems with that.

Hehe, tell that to my wife. Her argument is that should there be an emergency, she might need to drive my xA. And my argument was that she should learn to drive stick, in case of an emergency! At any rate, she has the final say... don't believe me, come see me after your married!

I did take offense to your first comment. In no way did you show any humor in it. There was no smiley face or any positive element at all. It simply looks like someone crapping on another persons thread. If you did not mean that, then I can accept it as a misunderstanding. Just remember with posts, we can't see if your smiling or not and have only the tone of your writing, or lack thereof.

Yea, you have to clip the wire to remove the switch and then pull it down and out of the linkage. Once it is removed, you can put it just about anywhere; dash, console, etc. Currently I have not put it back together yet. I intend to mount it inside the shift boot on the shifter. This way it is invisible yet can be utilized.

Cheers!
