Where do you have your Ipod resting at in your box?
I got one of those cup holder things that holds my ipod. It came with 3 different size holders for different cars and a foam sleeve that fits around them for a good fit. I opted for the ipod radio and the cord fits just fine when it is in its cradel. I think that it would work well for the FM modulator.

I had a Monster iCarPlay x-mitter. They are ok. Barely. Here in L.A., there is a lot of interference as the adapter only allows a few freqs. I would not do it again.
On topic, with the '06 iPod HU, my 3G/20gb pod lives full time by the jack under the front seat. Only comes out for updates.

Mine sits in the glovebox in the left compartment thingy. We had the iMonster but when we replaced the HU, we opted for the cable to connect to the back of the HU. Well, worth it...we never touch it unless we take it out for updating.
We had the iMonster that you could manually change the channels, but going through the tunnel on I-93 in Boston, it would cut out. I don't know if it uses existing towers (local radio station towers) or not but all the 'sales people' say the signal goes straight from the transmitter to the radio...but if that was the case, it wouldn't lose reception when the local stations do...like in a tunnel.

but i dont know where in my xb i could put the control ****; the screen i would mount above the idiot lights i think.
anyone have one of these, and put the **** somewhere convenient?

its ironic that such a boxy car has no flat surfaces large enough in a convenient spot to mount that control ****.
i guess i could look into some custom fab something, but that sounds expensive.
something to think about

I have the 06 ipod radio and I don't need access to the ipod to control the songs being played, so I have it laying sideways in that long groove next tothe e-brake handle. I can't use any of the cubbies or the isqueeze that came with my box because of the cable.
Proclip makes good mounts for $30...but I dont want to pay for em...
I have a Dension Ice>Link Plus... and its got that huge cradle dock thingy...so it wont fit in an isqueeze or tune doc or whatever...
I just ran the cable down to the lowest storage place on the xa console and keep it in a cupholder when im not using it...
i set the backlight to "always on" (you can turn it off by holding menu down) and that way at least i know what song is playing
