wife's sub box installed
Hey folks, I could not figure out how to edit the original post, but here are some pics of the box I built last week installed. I do not have the amp in yet, and i put it in real quick to see what it looks like. I did sacrifice the right side cover but I think it makes it look pretty finished. and the whole thing can be moved to get the spare out.
what do you think?

Yeah, that's it! The Schosche efx sub. I looked around for the Siphon site, but couldn't find it.
I also looked on the Schosche site, http://www.scosche.com/ , but had no luck. You may want to take a look at the site... I just skimmed through it.
hotbox, what experience have you had with it?

The fabric is some crap my wife picked out at the fabric store. I was aiming for skulls and stuff but was vetoed almost immediately.
The subs are Infinity reference 8's.
I am putting a MTX thunder 304 in with cerwin vega seperates in the door this weekend.

Those are infinity reference 8's. They need around .33 cu feet per sub and the bottom of the box is just under half a cubic foot and the weird shape up top should get it close to the size needed. But with subs now, if you get the box anywhere near the recommended size they sound good.
The amp and front speaks go intothe box today so I hope to report how they sound soon. I just figured out that I have to move all my crap for the avic-n2 to the other side since the amp does not fit by the jack. that sucks.

well, got the amp and front speakers in this weekend, and I way misjudged how much those little 8 inch woofers need for power. The MTX struggles to drive them so I am running them in parallel until something bigger comes along. As for sound, they hit pretty hard on all kinds of music but they do not go too deep for those really low notes which I knew they would not since the box is pretty small. All in all, I would stack them against a pair of 10's any day (once I have a bigger amp).
The cerwin vega 6.5 inchers in the doors are pretty good and add a little more highs since I have the tweets pointing straight at you.
All in all, good enough until I score a bigger amp.
