Default Wiring: Foglight Install Question

Hey guys,

I just finished mounting my aftermarket amber foglights in the lower grill area.. As I understand, the Xb comes prewired for the foglights. I found the wiring and I have it wired up to the foglights. I also found the wire which I belive is for the foglights in the center console. I wired it all up but nothing works. I am no getting any power to that wire in the console. Is that the correct wire? I forgot what the colors were for that extra plug and was unable to find it in the FAQ for the wiring diagram when I searched. I also checked the foglight fuse to make sure there was one in there. Do we need to hook anything else up or am I using the wrong wiring?

Please help!

from my experience in installing the OEM fogs

nothing works without the RELAY if u plan to use the stock foglight wiring....

you need the relay in order to get the fogs turned on via the stock wiring

I knew it had to be missing something. The fusebox map under the hood or under the dash does not show the relay. Do you know where it goes?

I am assuming will have to use one that toyota makes, hopefully they have one that will fit at the auto part not have to pay the premium money at the dealer.

Than you very much!!

Its under the dash on the left side of the panel box I think its the second one down you will have to remove it from the panel box and install the relay and then reattach it to the panel box.

Ok so I feel a little dumb the relay is already there, I just need to pull it and reinstall it? Where is it going to plug in the fuse box map under the dash does not show a foglight relay or spare relay? The only relays I see is HTR, PWR, and G\OCP no extras and those are not even on the map.

Which one is it, what color?

Thanks again for all your help!

Look under the tech section. There is a blow by blow that shows exactly where the relay needs to go. That is for the factory lights however, but may work with your install as well.

http://www.overboost.com/print.asp?id=1098

read that article

that shows you where the relay goes... it is not already in the car.. it comes with the fogs

the fog light OEM kit consists of 4 pieces... the 2 fogs... relay and switch

Does anyone know of a relay that can be cross referenced with the fog light relay? Right now I am running around without power windows. I could probably find a toyota at a junker with the relays and buy it for pennies unless I can just stick it in my pocket.

The dealer wanted 59.00 for it.

I got them working already, I am just now wondering another Toyota that has the same realy, my dealership guy does not want to cross reference the part for me. I want to go to the junker and just pick one out of maybe an Echo or something.
