Default Wiring OHm stuff :)

okay, i'm pretty good with wiring, but i need to ask: i bought some polyglass 8" midbass speakers that i plan on mounting in my doors. these are 8 ohms. (and i quote) "impedance: 8 ohms * Re: 6.0 ohms "

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

you can check that out, but, what kind of power are these speakers going to draw from an amp?

thanks a billion.

I'd say somewhere between 75 & 150w each, they are 8 ohm, you're best bet will be to get 2 & wire them in parallel (brings total load to 4 ohms, thus doubling power capacity). These should work fine in the door, once they're mounted.

Good luck with 'em

Dave.

well if you wire these in a parrell it will be fine if there just for mid bass...if you're using them as a midrange speaker you might have tuning issues becase when you wire them in parrell you get a 4 ohm mono load you have to wire 2 more of them in a series/parrell to get a 4 ohm stereo load

if you wire it in 8 ohm to a amp it could possibly cause problems plus it will decrease your amps out put by half (aproxx) if your hooking up to the head unit just wire them up i don't think that will be a problem

if you wire an 8 ohm load to an amp it will not cause any problems. the only problems (to an amp) are when the ohms are lower than it was designed for.
