Default xB DVD option for new buyer

Heya guys, I will be getting my xB in a couple of months
and was building it online, and am now debating on the DVD (10.4 inch front) so I can watch DVD's/play games when bored of wherever I am at.

Does anyone have this option? Or have any pics posted so I can see the setup?

thx

That's a new one for me. Does it take the place of the stock Pioneer radio? 10.4 is pretty big. Is it a flip down all in one? It wouldn't be bad to have that covered under a dealer 3 year warranty, in my opinion.

See that's just it.. I am supposing it is a flip down... they also offer headrest monitors with topload DVD for the backseaters...

I just built my own scion at the scion site, and the options were there, so I was wondering. Check it out, u know the site ;)

I just looked and I didn't see the options you are talking
about. Though I see the price increase is shown on the
site now.

they need your zip code so they get the same options. Or, if you're at a dealers site...

Yeah I seen it on there the other day, my zip is 31060. It's a flipdown screen.

10.4 flip down is most likely for the back row. practicality, how are you gonna watch a 10 inch screen right in your face. for me i don't know how safe it is to drive with a 10 screen blocking your rearview mirror. that's just me.

thats what I was thinking, but it says "front" on the options. I will be checking my dealer tommorrow to see if they have any models in with it yet, or if I can get some more detailed info.

If you do get it in the front you'll have to go through and disable the safety feature on it. There's no way they can sell a front screen that allows you to play a DVD while you're driving so that the driver can watch.

ahhh it doesn't say front... it says

"DVD Entertainment System Includes: 10.4" Overhead Screen, Hand Held Remote, Video DVD Player with/Game Input,2 Wireless Headphones, TV Tuner"

I see now...

the other option is:

"Dual Headrest DVD System Includes:7 inch Color TFT-LCD Monitor, Integrated Top-Loading DVD, Video/AudioInput/Output Jacks, 5 Control Buttons on the Front Panel, 12V DC Power Input,Adjustable Monitor, 2 Head Phones"

Makes sense now that I look at both options...

More than likely the package is being installed by an audio shop locally for the dealer. how do i know this , because thats what our company does for several different dealers in my area. the 10.4 is most likely a Farenheit w / dvd built in and would be mounted in between the front seat headrests in the roof. If you do the headrest monitors with the built in dvd that folds out those are built by a couple of companies. The one most used is a vizualogik set that is 7" monitors. hope this helps you......

the dual headrest monitors are sweet. They came on my car but the 10inch flipdown would be a big safety issue.

Actually the flip down screen is not too bad, from a safety standpoint. I just put a 7" flipdown in for my son and it doesn't really block that much. I have a similar screen in my Tahoe and it totally obstructs the view. Because the light is so far back and the roof is high, line of sight with it downis not too bad.

You will be better off dollar wise if you can pay cash someplace else though. I saved almost $400 compared to what my dealer charged.

That is one of the accessories offer by Southeast Toyota/Scion for the Scions and is covered for the 3yr/36,000 miles either installed at port or dealer.
