planning to do mine under the front seat.

I'm going to mod my xbox to use a power switch (one of the gardner bender's from lowes) and put a hard drive in it so that I don't actually need normal access to it. I'll have the network connection accessible so I can pull in the garage, hook it to the network and transfer files if necessary though.

But then when i turn the car on it works fine. I want to know how i have to set it up if i want to0 play the xbox withoutn the keys in the ignition.

Oh yeah and BTW i put my xbox under the passenger seat and i built a little carpeted box fir it so it sits straight. It looks nice and ity also hides the helps to hide the wires and the power inverter.

Shouldn't be necessary if you are only running an XBox, but you might try running the cables (or new cables) directly to the battery. I'm probably going to do that on mine, but I'm going to be running a larger than necessary inverter (700w, 1500w peak most likely).

If you really wanted to go kickass... get the wireless xbox adapter. THAT would be sweet. See if you can drive around and find open wireless networks to play on. And it would keep you from needing to run a network cable into your garage.

You mean everyone doesn't already have a computer and network connection in their garage?

The wireless adapter is a good idea, but the xbox and it's networking ability is a bit flaky. It would probably be more of a pain than it's actually worth... consider my network connection will be just to transfer mp3s/movies from my network.

I'd have to agree that wireless might be a a real hassle... but if I do end up with an xbox in my future xB... it'll have wireless... mainly just cuz I wanna park outside of a Panera and use their free wifi.

I'm only using a 250 Watt power inverter that I bought at Best Buy, and it works GREAT! I never have any problems with it, and I can play the XBox for like 30 minutes before my battery starts to have troubles. I mounted mine under the passenger seat and placed it ontop of the brain for my deck. It's just velcroed on it. I put the inverter under the passenger seat as well, in the front just under the pull lever to adjust the seat. It works great in there IMO.
