Default Are xBs prewired for a sub/amp?

I have a 2005 xB. I also have a sub and amp from my old car. I know you can get the bazooka tube subwoofer system from the dealer.

I know this is a long shot, but xBs aren't prewired from the factory to accept a sub and amp, are they?

If they were, I'd just toss my old amp and sub in the car. Otherwise I was going to sell them.

Not pre-wired from the factory but don't throw out your stuph either. Easy enough to add your amp and sub to the factory HU with a pre-out adapter. You can get a "plug n play" one from ebay seller id = euro_werks. Do a search and contact the seller. He currently does not have any for sale but will list some if you contact him.

My amp has hi-level inputs so I just tapped the signal to the rear speakers right off the back of the HU. IMO, this is the easiest and cheapest alternative to the adapter. Your amp has to support hi-level signals (on mine, it's a different input than the line level ins)

Careful with high level hookups, there is a lot of amperage running there and if ground is bad or the amp is not tuned correctly you stand a strong chance on blowing your sub.

I have alot of headroom in the sub but I'm also going to re-bind the ground connections to make double sure they stay put because of your advice. Thanks for the tip EM.

Are you gettin' things hooked up Sushiboy?

Nah, I actually selling the sub. I just figured if I could simply plug something in back in the trunk, I'd keep it, however, it looks a bit more involved than that. I could use the money for the sub, too.

Thanks for the informative post, though.
