I second the suggestion of getting Sirius. Seriously, get Sirius.

And the kit, I don't know. I know when we got our Sirius from the dealership, it's just a box under the seat and an antenna and some wires.

Whether you get XM or Sirius, I would suggest not getting it from the dealer and getting a stand alone type from somehwere else. It's much easier to browse stations with several lines of text, rather than one half line that the stock Scion radio gives you. Even if you had a different radio that scrolled... it's just not the same.

Dealers are not all the same. Check around Purchased mine through sparkstoyota.com, at a sale price of around $280, and that included a year of free XM. Love the XM. Have also heard that aftermarket XM tuners do not work completely with the stock stereo, if you are still operating off the OEM radio.

If you have more than one car, go witha a portable unit that you can wire direct into an aftermarket stereo. Even the FM modulater is ok.

I have 3 cars, all with their own XM antennas and mounts. You can move one radio from car to car. 3 cars = one unit and ONE Monthly fee.

Here's the XB setup;

That unit won't work with the stock head unit, which isn't RDS capable. The installation instructions for the Toyota kit will show you what's in it. They're posted at http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...5&parts_id=328

I have the XM kit installed, and think the Audiovox xPress that I had sitting on the dash before the dealer installed the kit is a better way to go. Nice audio, even with FM modulation, and the 5 line display is much better than having to cycle through the 1-line display on the head unit.
