Default XM ready?

on the OEM stereo...there is a logo that says XM ready? how do i get the satellite service for the radio? or is it an upgrade that i will have to purchase?

It is an upgrade, expensive one also.

I do not use XM but I have seen people mention that it is cheaper just to go to somewhere like Besybuy and get it than going toyota

That's true with the cost of what the dealer is asking you can get your XM and pay for almost a year of service! I say wait a little bit longer I bet SoundGate or Pac are in the works for an adaptor to get an aftermarket pioneer direct link tuner into the scion.

as soon as i hear about a adapter im buying it....i want xm radio....just not for the dealer price...what a joke...i should just open up then deck and soilder the correct plug in place of the proprietary one they decided to put for toyota....BAH

xm radio is well worth the $10 a month. LIke everyone else said, don't get XM from the dealership. I used to work at best buy and am well aware that the people over there will try and give you the best deal possible.
