Default Auto-x with an xB

does anyone do auto-x with their xB? if so, how well did it work out for you? Im thinking about getting some suspension parts for mine to do some auto-x with it but i wanna see if its worth it first.

thanks for any input.

It's an awsome vehicle to auto-x with as long as there are a bunch of turns.

TRD springs with a DC Sports Strut bar. I'm going to be getting the TRD shocks and struts and a front chassis brace in the future.

I also autox.

Won 6 out of 8 times last year. Two times i had lost both tracks had two long straight aways and that hurt my score/time a lot. The really turn-y tracks i've beat a few out of class cars too. Box can take corners like a champ, but we need more power for straight aways.

I'm thinking about trying Auto-x in Atlanta this summer. My supercharger will
put me in different class. I'm not sure which though.

I could be wrong, but I think it's SM.

Depends on how many classes are seperated per day. But being boosted in the box puts you at a disadvantage in most respects. I've seen a few boosted xbs/xas be put up against evo's and sti's due to how many classes were running.

Its fun though, and very addicting. I might be selling the box this spring for the new Yaris, which should prove (if i do this) a better track car although, box handles its own with the right driver.

What class is a stock xb In? HS? isn't the xb pretty competative with just a set of sticky tires?

In my xA i have:

Koni shocks
Hotckis Springs (soon chaging to Tein S-techs)
Progress rear sway bar
DC sprots strut bar
GT Spec front chassis brace

With these few parts and a correctly tuned suspension setup you are good to go for the Auto-X. I race mine here in events called GymKana, where they rent a Karting track, which is a really tight circuit and against 350Z's, STi's, EVO's and who wins: the one with the shortest wheel base, scions and hondas.

Yes they are. I just ran mine at the HomeStead SpeedWay for the first time. I was in the HS Class with a bone stock xb. No mods what so ever. I came in 10 place. Their was a Nissan 200 SER running almost a full second slower than I was. From what i could see he was running springs, strut bars , pullys , Khumo tires.

HAHA Yes the VSC does beep quite a bit when running the course. People were comming up to me as well asking me if i had a death wish for running the car. In one of the pics I had the Bb leaning over quite a bit , But inside the cabin the car gave me no indication that it was going to break loose of even tip for that matter. The Bb in the right hands can run pretty hard on an Autox Course.

Maybe for the xB you could be worried about that, but as for xA it feels right at home, not as much as my old civic but very nice and very smooth, im quite impressed with the handling of these cars.

I had a 1988 CRX Si and a 1991 CRX Si, I know all to well the handling prowess of the 3rd gen Civics.

I can never build up the nerve to drive my xB like I drove my CRXs.

This is my 1st new car ever and I just couldn't bear to think of it flipping over b/c I wanted take a corner fast or clip some seconds off my time.

I guess I sort of bought this car JUST to be left alone by the racers/ricers (since most ppl know its a SLOW car/microvan) and just to make it look nice.

I can say with pride that I'm all show and no go with the xB and nobody ever "instigates" a race (except when I ran into this younger xB driver who thought he ha to prove how much faster his xB is than my xB in heavy traffic).

I'll be getting one in the future, but I've hung my helmet up for the xB. I'm going to be doing some stuff to it that will push me up a class or two and I can't hang with them boys. I will let you know when I'm ready, trust me, you are on my list.

i always wanted to watch an xb in auto-x. i thought it'd do well, and i guess it does! so far ive only seen ONE other scion and it was a tc.

heres something embarassing. there is a near stock echo that beats a lot of people. i think it just has springs. and as the guy said "the worst tires he could find." yes it beats me by a good 4 seconds.

Xb isn' top heavy, with the proper set up the risk of flipping is about the same of a regular compact flipping.

It does beep quite often, but doesn't take away from anything.

And yes, the xb/xa handling is extremely impressive. This coming from a previous gsr owner that was set up for track.
