Blowin Strut??
So im thinking my right front strut is blown. First off im running 18'' rims with 215/35's and DF210's so i know the ride is expected to be rough due to the wheels. The issue is when im on the freeway i notcied when i drive over the bumpy dividers in the road to switch lanes it makes the loudest noise ever, i always think the wheel is going to fly off. Just picture driving around with no tires...just on rims and then picture driving over those dividers on the freeway and thats the noise i get when the passenger side goes over that crap....orrr picture driving over a 2x4....picture that loud thud ..thats my car...ha. This also happens with imperfections on the streets. It just seems the passenger side strut isnt dampening. because i do not get the same effect on the driver side. So my question is....is it possible that my strut is blowin? as i only have 34k miles on my car. Is there any indications i can check for? or should i just take in to toyota?
Thanks for the help guys.

Also look for physical damage to the strut. If you see oil covering the strut, then it is blown. I would take it back to the dealer since it is still under the basic warranty. The only thing is that the 18 inch wheel may void the warranty, since those wheels are a lot heavier than the stock rims. But then again they do sell the 19in aftermarket TRD Rims which are heavier than your 18 in.
Hey guys thanks for the responses!
i did change out the spring i used DF210's so there is a chance for that error i will have to check this weekend or later today as i did get a flat today on that exact wheel..talk about bad luck right?? i didnt notice any oil but i did notice the boot wasnt sitting right.......do you think the warranty will be void since i did replace the springs?? i've read that stock shocks are prone to wear faster since they are not engineered to operate at the new lower height.

if it's mangled you can get a new top hat for about $12, when you put the strut back together you have to make sure that you have the spring compressed enough to line up the top hat with the notches on the strut. If you don't it will move when you go over bumps and it sounds like something is broken.
You can check it by grabbing the edge of the fender from under the hood close to where the strut tower is and pulling up and down, you will be able to feel it and probably hear it moving from where it seats with the top hat.
