Just installed my front bushings. Decided to get only the washers and actual bushings. The money I saved paid for the nuts and bolts. Total upgrade price was 17 bucks.

The original pieces were hella cheap and thin. Looking forward to the rear Whiteline bar now to finish the suspension upgrade.

Default ....Need More Info....

I was going to buy the Hotckis front and rear sway bars. Then I realized that the XB has a big sway up front. The end bushings are tiny and look cheap. So, I bought the Progress rear sway bar. They say that it comes with poly bushings, but I don't see them in the installed photo. Between the bolts and the bar? (I thought that the rear only had bolts and nuts not bushings)

Anyway, I want to replace the front sway bar ends with something more beefy.
I can not see any of Hornet's links due to policy at work. I can get to the Summit page but I don't have a number and Scion is not listed.
What is the number of the parts that you got?
I want to get the poly bushings, (black or red) washers and maybe the bolt if it is the right size. Is 4 inches the right size, or 4.5 inches?

SuperFreeStyle, can that bolt be mounted up-side-down?
What part numbers are those bushings? Spacer needed? Kit number?

The Energy Suspension bushings come with the washers and are red. Take them with you to get the right diameter 4inch grade 5 bolts and nylock nuts. No spacers needed cause of the thicker bushings. Just use double washers between the 2 center bushings.

Default ...NOW, I understand......

Rear Progress sway bar has no bushings, 4 bolts, thats it.

I bought the kit for 14$. Jethro is right, just buy the bushings because you need to replace the bolt with a 4 inch long grade 8 bolt anyway.
Replace the whimpy stock set up with some poly urathane bushings. See photos below. Compair and contrast stock to the beefed. What do you want to ride on?

I can feel the energy of harsh bumps supressed now. I hit the same road defects commuting and I can feel the differance! More of a differance than the rear Monroe 5987 shocks make. Thanks for the info...

Glad you found what I was talking about. No need to buy anything but the bushings and washers. This is a nice upgrade over the stock bushings. Plus it's so easy to change them out.

Do you need a spacer in between the bushings to make the control bar and stabalizer bar parallel? Will it affect the camber and or ride if you use a spacer or not.

Just wondering if I should put a 1/2 inch spacer or just have the washers in between the bushings.

How much should the nut be torqued?

Did anyone also install the bushings on the middle of the sway bar or is it only necessary to just do the end set?

no spacers needed,
doesnt affect camber or ride
tighten only til the bushings start to compress
make sure you use nylock nut. bolt is 4 " long.
dont worry about the ones in the center til they wear out.

Anyone about this:
I just had new TRD Struts, springs, and shocks installed, but the mechanic didnt install the Bump stops on the struts. Has anyone had any problems without using bump stops, am I going to bottom out. He said that he would've had to cut them and that they wouldn't really do much anyways.
Anyone have any input on this. I am a newbie with suspension stuff.

the mechanic was mistaken.. you need the bumpstop and shield ..
you should have been able to transfer them over without cutting anything.
do you still have and have you read the instructions that came with the struts??
I am betting that you need the bumpstops. Otherwise the TRDs would have come
with their own like the Hotcchkiss did.

Maybe the TRD's did come with their own. However, the Mechanic's friend was there, and he said "how come you didn't install the stops?" and the Mechanic replied "ah you dont really need them, you have to cut them and I tried it on another car and it didnt really work that well." Hopefully the TRD's have their own and he used the TRD ones instead of the orignal ones.

Just did this mod. Didn't take that long. My old rubber bushings were toast.

the thing is TRDs are only an inch lower you should be able to use the old ones on it.. you need to have something in there.. if you dont and it bottoms out there will be damage. go back to the guy and make sure there is something in there.. or Jack up the car take the wheel off and feel up in there to find out for sure if there is something there or not.

My impression of the bushings on the end links is that it seems to have solved my sloppy handling. Especially over bumps and cracks in the road. It feels like the steering is 100% back to normal.

Ordered mine Tuesday, installed them today. I agree with TJ, good improvement. The stock ones looked horrible after I took them out!
