Fabricated my own strut bar
I bought some 1" by 1" square tubing. Cut, bent, weld. I used the stock shock tower plates....I tack welded the tubing to the plates...took the plates out --finished welding and fabing. I had the easy part really. My good buddy/ painter- did the mud and paint work. I have taken out my entire cowl assembly probably over 5 times so I can probably do that with my eyes closed...that is usually the largest pain in the but. Some say you can take the 3 nuts of the strut towers with an open end wrench...but I don't believe thats the correct way to do it. Everything turned out really nice.
I also had the scion grille emblem molded into the engine cover which turned out sweet. I just hope it doesnt crack with vibration over time since it is on a angle. I rather make my own stuff when possible. It's more fun and a lot less expensive.

I've got a custom made Randode Stainless Steel Strut Bar on my wife's 2.0....
I had some wrought iron twisted up to make mine and purched a pair of top plates so not to mess up the originals.
Not the best pix but its all I got.

Nice job! I also like the look of 215/45/17's...I am currently running 215/40/17 with Gold-Line 2" drop but when my tires need replacing i'm going with 215/45/17...Fills the fenderwell gap nicely...Well done...

looks great! That reminds me of someone last year that created a big hype about making his own strut bar. And when he posted up pics, all it turned out to be was a rod bolted onto one strut tower nut all the way across to the other tower nut. Ghetto Fab to say the least
Again, great job!
