Front strut rubber boot replacement?
When I was installing Koni front struts, I noticed that the rubber boot bushings were rather worn. One has a tear straight through where the spring contacts it.
The rear also has some rubber mounts on the top and bottom of the springs.
During the whole process I had been thinking that the rubber boots and that foam bushing between the upper spring mount and strut mount must make the suspension unnecessarily squishy.
Does anyone know of a replacement for those parts other than the stock rubbers?
I was hoping that there would be a polyurethane replacement, but I have not seen anything yet.
I might be able to make some myself but I don't feel like it if I do not have to.
Thanks

They are made of rubber to keep the vibes at bay. If you go to something harder you will feel it. Just replace worn stuff with new rubber pieces. You will enjoy it more.
^^ i would rather feel it more. i just switched back to progress springs from ksport coilovers. the ride is a lot nicer on the nastier roads, but i am missing so much steering wheel feedback now.
i think that i will buy a single boot from a dealer and try to make my own polyurethane boot.

with the ksport coilovers that i had been using, i felt a lot through the steering wheel. coilovers make only the suspension stiffer and there was no rubber in the coilover strut that i could see.
based on my coilover experience, i think that replacing the boots with a stiffer material will improve feedback and response at least a little.
even if it only improves the butt feedback, that is still feedback about the driving condtions. the last time that i checked, road vibrations are the main form of driving feedback.
