does anyone have a camber kit on there box ? and what s the ideal time to wait for an alingment after you dropped youre box 2'' front and back on goldlines

nickisantoro.... about the alignment... does your car pull in either direction, or do you find your holding the steering wheel at an angle to drive straight....

the way that scion suspension systems are designed and implemented, there isnt any alignment that really needs to get done unless you change your suspension to something with a camber kit, or your new struts / shocks have a different camber to them... for example easy street air struts have a slightly positive camber to where you need to adjust. stock shocks dont have any positive / negative camber, so there is no adjustment needed.

if you dont feel any pulling, or your wheel isnt "out of whack" you dont need to get an alignment. i would still check your tires after about 500 miles and if you notice uneven wear, then worry about alignment.

i have a full coilover suspension, and the rears were perfect. the fronts had an adjustable camber, and i tore through two of the tires during show season because i had my camber fully negative for looks, and never adjusted after the shows...

the information about the Scion Alignment is coming from a General Manager for AC Delco Parts, and servicing, at my local GM / Toyota / Chevy dealership. he has a scion xb and has changed his suspension multiple times, including coilovers, springs and air.

mr WeeMan im digging youre frog .... the thing is im going to get springs to drop my car 2'' front and back at this time my alingment is perfect but dont know what shape its going to be after i drop my box....

if properly installed springs will not funk up alignment.

yeah, just springs, keeping the stock shocks and struts wont screw up your alignment at all.

when you get into changing the main components, thats when you have to worry about alignment.

make sure your springs are properly seated in the grooves, use a spring compressor for the front shocks, and you wont have to worry at all. the only person i know of that had to re-align his front end from springs didnt properly install them. and they were sitting crooked on the shock.

then after we fixed the springs, the money-greedy mechanic never told us the spring was seated wrong, he had to get it re-aligned back!

When you get coilovers and you lower it...wait for everything to settle in and the align it. If you constantly raise it and lower it then you have to keep having it aligned.
Not that its a major expense. Were talking like 40 bucks.

were talking 100 bux on my island for it to get aligned. first time i took it out to get aligned i needed to pay 30 bux first off to just look at it... he came back 5 minutes later asking if i had the alignment "specs" for the specific shocks.... i said no thats why you have a machine to tell my how off it is from normal.... aparantly he doesnt have this magical alignment machine and 5 minutes later, thirty bux lighter, i was driving home the same as i drove in....

my car is lower than that but the kit makes his look lower. those sportmax 002's ruin the ability to go low.

exactly.. im glad im not the only one who see's it that way.
like take aireck's car.. its laid out on 17's..
it won't "look" as low as some car on some stocks.. i mean 15" sportmax.. (same thing to me)

i think 17's go good.. 15" is just too small..
i mean the car came with them..
i think the smallest u should go is 16's..
but i guess 15's is the bandwagon right now..
sportmax and the "axis work equips"
