Default My rear subframe is BENT!!!! i need help!!

hi guys, well i went to get my xA aligned today and they told me the worst news. They told me that my rear subframe is bent, and that they cant align my car til its fixed. Now i have to go to a body shop to get it fixed, but i was wondering if any of you guys can give me an estimate of how much this is gonna cost?

How did you manage to bent it anyhow? Were you out Rally Crossing on train tracks or something? =P

i can tell you.. i took my box to a tire/wheel shop and they jacked up the car in the middle of the rear swing arm... this ended up bending the swing arm right in the middle. needless to say i was pretty ____ed. im still trying to get them to replace the arm, but they say this is a normal operation and their not at fault. maybe i need to call a laywer.

Look in your manual about jacking points. For jacking in the middle, the manual shows the use of the subframe in front, and a special reinforced point in the rear.

It says NOT to use the rear subframe and swing arms, and has dots showing the forbidden points. This should clinch your case.

Glad you actually didn't have a problem, but to prevent actually having a problem in the future, everyone should memorize this little blurb in the manual:
