the ticking is not any fault of the rings or wheel. It's just owing to the inherent -flex- in a steel wheel. This tiny flexure moves the claws just a bit. tick.

If the attachment is good and secure, some grease will stop the noitses (may promote loss of the ring if the grippers don't reach in far enough to capture on the downslope of the permemeter annnular ring)

If you worry about ring loss, silicone RTV should make a fix, too, but what a mess to r and r the ring later on- the silicone rubber residue may be a pita to remove.

I just switched up the wheels, went up to 19's...Axis Mod 7s w/ maxis rear lip but dont have pics right now...w/ the 19's it looks sweet IMO....only got like an inch of wheel gap at the most
