Default Pics Request for Tanabe DF210 & TRD Strut/Shock Combo

Hey guys,

I am getting my xB delievered to me on July 27th, I am looking into lowering with DF210 springs. But didn't find much info on who was riding on what strut/shocks.

Does anyone recommend running the tanabe springs with TRD struts/shocks.
What are the advantages and disadvanages compared to other brands?

Which combo do you guys perfer??

If anyone of you have the tanabe and TRD combo can you please post a pic.

Thanks in advance
Kenny

I have this combo. Pics really dont help the Tanabe spings are awesome. I have them on my Xb with stock rims and tires, and my wife as factory suspension. The factory rides soft and junky. But my XB rides nice. No scraping, no bottoming out. Nice and firm. I installed them myself too, after my local scion dealer wanted $780 in labor just to install the struts and springs.

Hey,

Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it. I just picked up my xB today. So I will be ordering the springs and strut/shock combo soon. I just want to ride my car stock for a few months to find any kinks it may have so I can take it in for warranty before I start modding it.

I already got the TRD exhaust. Wheels but no tires yet, and other misc small items.
so my Suspension components are next.

Do you have a rear sway bar installed?? If so which one did you go with? I was thinking of getting the TRD RSB, Tanaba sustec front strut bar and Tanabe lower brace. What are your opinions???
I will be running 19x8 wheels with +35 offset all around but using the 10mm OTG shims in the rear pushing it to +25 offset.

Any opinions and comments are welcomed.

Kenny

Your rear wheels will tuck with DF210's, and your front wheels will rub when you turn.

Friend has DF210's and 19"s and he's changing out to 16's cause he's tired of rubbing.

Yea, I figured that might happen. So I mite end up selling my 19's. I haven't even taken them out of the box yet so I dont think Ill have a problem selling them.

Do you if I was to run 17x8 with +35 front and +25 rear will rub?? I will prbably run 225-40-17 tires with those.

naw with the 17x8 setup they shouldnt rub..

any idea how long the stock shocks will last with the df210s?
i might be a little paranoid, but i just wanna replace them with the TRDs before that happens..

i love the ride i get with the springs though..its just awesome...wayyy better than stock.

Great!! Thanks for the info.
I'm not sure how long the stock will last on the springs. But a rule of thumb for me when doing suspension is due it right the first time. So I always do the springs and upgrade sturt/shock combo all at once.

Which is why I am doing all the research now.

I am rolling on the stock rims and tires for now. I have 2 many cars with low profile tires on them. I am just going to upgrade to 195/60/16 H rated tires for handling. I bought performance parts to pep the car up a littlebit, wheels and tires that are large are just going to slow us all down. I am holding out for 18inch volks.

Yea, The only reason I have the 19's is that I got them at a good price. Pretty much a deal too good to let go.

But I think im going to end up with 17x8 SSR SP1 with staggered offsets. I have 19x8.5 SSR SP1's on my Solara.

I wish I can fit those on the xB. But diff bolt pattern and too wide.

not the df210 but here is mine with the HKS SF5 spring w/ stock struts. it's on 17" BSA wheels. Thedrop is aprox. 2.5" but after it settled it is actually closer to 3"! These were taken just after I installed them, so it settled alot more.
