I am planning on selling my Prelude and getting my own xB though. I just haven't decided how much I want to customize it right now. It will either be all out, full custom air suspension, or just dropped on springs. Nothing in between.

And that all depends on how far I want to take my truck project. As it is, I am going to take it down to the frame. Then I need to decide on keeping the 20s, or jumping to 22s, narrowing the rear end, whether or not to body drop. Big projects and big dollars. Not a lot of time and money left for the xB depending on how far I go with the Dakota.

Randy, looks sweet! can't wait to see it complete. I know it's been a pain, but the final outcome will be worth it.

Yea you definitely have to use some air to get some height, even when I max my front ES struts i can only get the factory scissor jack in (i use it to get a little more height then use a bigger hydro jack). The only thing you have to be careful with is leaving it jacked up for an extended period of time, since the weight of the wheel etc. is stretching the bags out, my guess is they can wear out faster and might come apart or something. I never leave my xB jacked up for too long unless i have something supporting the bags.

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever... leave a vehicle equipped with air suspension jacked up without supporting (limiting) the suspension.

Rebelman is right. Things can get bad. Blown bags from doing this are far from rare. And then things can get worse. Ever have a bag blow only inches from your head? There is potential for sever damage. Especially to easily damaged tissue like eyeballs and eardrums.

If you are going to have your car in the air for more than a few minutes, spend a few bucks at harbor freight. Buy some extra jack stands to support the suspension.

So what is the proper way of lifting a car with air suspension? Inflated or deflated? I'm due for a oil change soon...

Any time I have to work on a vehicle with air suspension I put only enough air in the system to get a jack under the car. The last thing you want is to have too much pressure in the bags and then stretch them.

If I will be working on the car for more than just a typical tire change, I will support the suspension using jack stands and dump the air out of the bags. It is of course in addition to supporting the vehicle chassis with jack stands.
