Rear Spacers

Rear Spacers
HELLO, all of you SuSpEnSiOn gurus out there!!! I've got a quick question for all of you. But first let me bring you up to speed.
Right now I'm running:
Stock Suspension
Damani Tech-5 18x7.5 +42 offset
Pirelli PZero Nero (M+S) 215/40/ZR18
I have some Tanabe DF210s sitting in my living room, just waiting to be put on though they probably won't see use until March or April. I am debating on adding some rear shims. If I do, it won't be until March or April when I put the springs on. My question pretty basic. How thick should/could I go without a thought of rubbing?
This is my daily driver, as I'm sure most of you are in the same boat as me. I'm afraid of putting on shims and realizing that my tires are rubbing on my fenders and seeing my fenders becoming blemished.
I'm expecting some constrasting answers so throw them at me! I've got about 7 months before they're going on anyway

ive got tien s-tech, monro shocks and struts from the echo, 15x7 38mm offset.
i used 15mm hub spacers and it worked out perfect.

i might have been able to go with a 20mm but i just wanted it to be even with the front

Also, have you had any rubbing issues at all?
