For safety, you should periodically check them. Maybe when you change your oil as they may not last/wear as long as the original oem rubbber hose. Just my 2 cents, we don't want to lose any Scion life people.

Just out of curiosity how would stainless steel wear faster that rubber? Aren't the SS lines supposed to last longer?

i got the goodridge ss brake lines and they have a lifetime warranty on them. i think they are meant to last the life of the car.

Goodridge has a 150,000 mile warranty. Goodridge states that say you should do front + back.

my goodridge ss brake lines came with a card that clearly stated lifetime warranty also it says it on the box.

i got mine from performancepeddler.com for 88bucks shipped.
accidentally broke one of the bolts that connect the brake line to the caliper and asked them if i could get another one and they sent me 4. great customer service from those guys. and the goodridge lines are a perfect fit, exactly like oem.

I installed Speed Bleeders when I put the stainless steel brake lines on and they work fantastic. Just make sure the brake reservoir stays full. All you have to do is crack the bleeder a 1/4 turn and pump the brake and your done in no time. They ran about 15 dollars a pair and you need two pair for the whole car.
