That is what I noticed also, but I have to admit I put on my Hotchkis bar at the same time as the Tein S lowering springs. Anyway--I am happy with the handling during cornerning compared to what it was stock.

I installed a DC front strut bar at 500 miles, and felt no difference. Took it off at 5000 miles and again felt no difference. Since it was also interferring with several maintenance items under the hood, I sold it.
I put a TRD rear sway bar on a 500 miles and easily felt the flatter cornering and less oversteer, so I have kept it.

I'm still surprised that so many people don't seem to be able to feel any difference with/without the strut bar.

What maintenance items was it interferring with for you vintage? I see you've got an xB as opposed to my xA, but it might be good info for me.

Maybe if you had a whole front end brace which linked the strut tower bars to the front end, then it'd be worthwhile.
I'm going to have to disagree with you about how stiff the firewall is, after changing out my springs and taking out the struts you really see how much play there is. The firewall isn't that strong at all and a tower brace would help out, there my have been more to the car you rode in....I would also think that just a Tower brace wouldn't do it. It would give some more stifness but would also need a sway bar on the bottom to really do it

To feel a difference, you would have to stress the strut towers hard enough to make them wiggle, and then wiggle them enough to affect the camber of the wheel alignment, and then for you to feel that and then remember what it was like without the bar. Maybe it takes a fast drive on a curvy bumpy road to wiggle the strut towers. I just never felt any difference after installing or removing the bar. On the other hand, one person reported feeling a difference as soon as he turned out of his driveway, and another reported that the bar made him feel more secure and crashworthy.

The bar causes some interference with service items as follows:
1. Cruise control - makes it harder to install the module on the strut tower.
2. Brake fluid resevoir - makes it harder to remove cap or get a funnel to it.
3. Clutch fluid resevoir - blocks access.
4. Air cleaner - cannot remove top to replace filter, must pry up front and push filter in.
5. General access to area behind the engine or the firewall is blocked.
