Default Tanabe Underbrace - 4 point cross brace for xA, xB, Vitz

Did you know?

The 4 point brace we carry for the Vitz (TUB099F) also applies to the xA and xB. We've seen a few threads with this item pop up, but not too many people know about it, or are familiar with what it does.

Briefly, the "underbrace" is a chassis reinforcement part that is engineered to prevent flexing of the chassis along certain points. Toyota engineered the xA and xB with some bracing from the factory to improve the rigidity of the vehicle. This is also evidenced on other vehicles such as the 350Z and EVO VIII and IX, which have quite a bit of bracing from the factory.

This part is engineered to replace and make large improvements over the factory bracing, and will provide a noticable improvement in quick steering changes such as when making quick lane changes/slalom (given the tires are sufficient enough to exploit it).

Questions, please feel free to ask!

There are a few members who have installed these on their vehicles and they can provide more insight. Please feel free to chime in with your reviews and honest opinions about the part!

ok... It's a chassis brace. How does it NOT improve handling?

Great sarcasm. Just because there already is a brace or two out there for this vehicle, doesn't mean others can't also make the part. Now, what do you expect Tanabe to make? Tires? They primarily do suspension.

~~~~~~
We have a Tanabe representative on this board. Be greatful that they are even posting to help educate.
Tanabe,
Are there any clearance issues, such as scraping with these + the DF210s?
Btw, I have the DF210's and the Strut Tower Bar on my tC-- really fantastic products! No problems in almost a year-- awesome job!
i wouldnt think there would be clearane issues.. with the parts. .. they do a lot of r&d on the parts before production..they tested my friends STi for coilovers and such for a couple days.
tanabe, can you confirm the proper fitment?
df210s ftw.
and so what if they make more products? its what makes the market competitively priced and pushes each company to 1-up each other..
Default Sway bar upgrade needed?
I plan to get the Front and Rear underbraces for my car...
do I have to change my sway bar and get a strut tower bar to get the best suspension upgrade possible, or it just overkill?
Does Tanabe make a sway bar for the Xa/Xb/Echo?
The best combo of these parts would be great to know.
Thanks in advance.
