TRD brakes
#4
Thanks for the replys, I didn,t know they were PF pads. I did search and only found a little info on TC boards about them, they mentioned about more dust too.
I already bought a set from TRD Sparks. I'll see how well they work/stop. When I get them installed next weekend. Looks easy to do. The dealer wanted 220.00 to install front brake pads.

I finally replaced the stock pads with the TRD pads. So far they are good, just breaking them in for the first 200 miles. The stock pads were worn down to about the size of a nickel 1.95 mm on one set of pads the other was double or about 4mm. Here is a link of the old worn stockers.

36,200 miles. Getting close to 36,500, I started to stop a little harder and quicker. Stops better and quicker. No hard stopping, until I pass the 500 mark. Then I'll try to get the abs to kick in.

After 200 miles, braking with these pads are excellent. No squealing or noise, they just stop quickly. As noted by other they do generate a lot of brake dust, more than the stock pads.

Are they metallic, semi metallic, or ceramic? I think the ceramic pads wear out faster and create more brake dust. Could be wrong though. I know for sure though that metallic pads are best because the metal in the pads pull heat away from the disc. If too much heat stays in the disc, it could cause it to warp.
