i was wondering what the benefits would be for installing a rear sway bar and a upper strut bar on an xb without lowering it first.

i would also like to know if the trd rear sway bar and upper strut bar are actually worth it. would any other company's rear sway bar and upper strut bar be better? thanks.

 

The rear sway bar stiffens the suspension with respect to roll in curves. You will see an improvement with just this mod and it will not make the ride harsh. Lowering springs are normally stiffer, so the ride gets a little harsher, and it improves roll also as well as improves appearance by closing up the wheel opening gaps. The strut tower brace helps limit the amount of body flex. Of the three mods the rear sway bar will be the most noticable, at least it was to me. The springs (TRD) were next. You would have to drive more on the aggressive side to enjoy the benefits of the strut tower bar, although it is a good looking mod. It is also cheap enough that if you felt no difference at all you are not out that much $$$.

I installed the Progress sway bar. TRD is about the same price, maybe a little more, and will yield equal results.

 

I had the TRD Springs and TRD Strut Bar installed on delivery. I enjoyed the ride quality. The TRD Sway was installed two weeks later because it was on backorder. It def made the car more responsive and more fun to drive in the curves (nothing like the tC though) and it didnt take too much away from the ride quality.

 

I recently installed the TRD rear sway and noticed a difference right away. The vehicle is much more stable and crisp while turning. A great mod.

I did not notice that much difference with the front strut brace as much as the rear, but I'm sure it helps none the less.

Even though you are not lowered, these mods should make the car more stable.

I went with the Progress rear sway bar and the Hotchkis front strut brace. I consider this to be a winning combination. It looks good and has improved the drive immenesly. and I'm sure it is less expensive than TRD.

 

hmm...i'm going to need to pick up a trd rear brace. looks like everyone is pretty happy with the results.

 

No need to lower to achieve better handling. I have the Whiteline rear bar and DC front strut bar and it takes corners like on rails. It has a low center of gravity right out the box.

 

lowered still looks better...and my lowering springs did improve handling

 

is the rear strut bar a easy install?

anyone have a .pdf of the instructions?

 

should be very easy install the whiteline.. took me less than an hour. and the others may take less time.

 

Can anyone post prices and sources for the above mentioned products? Sure would ease the comparison shopper stress. lol

I bought mine from here too...lowest price I could find and fast shipping.

Installation took about 5-10 min (and I'm not mechanically inclined) and having it impacted my driving a lot more than I thought...I love it and would recommend purchasing one if you have the cash....plus the bright red bar is sexy

 

I love the TRD red b/c it doesnt matter what color Scion you have (i iguess except the RS1 tC and xA) it stands out so beautifully!!!

 

all i need to do now is save up the cash. pick up a few more trd parts as well. hehe...

 

I have heard from a lot of people that the rear swaybar doesnt help, I just wanted to confirm just as many others have that its probably the easiest suspension mod and the cheapest to do! If you like to dirive and take some corners then this is definatly the mod for you!
