I am planing to do my bushings install next weekend and I am planing to document the install for my guys on Spyderchat as well as for you guys.

This is all the information I can give you in regard to which years are what but when the pictures of the install are complete you can have an idea if any of the bushings will work for your application.

BTW the Bushings were made by Super pro and it was done by request for the MR2 Spyder. I have found other parts that were made for other cars like the billet throttle rotor that is made for the Celica and it happend to work for our spyders because we have the same engines.

I am sure there are a number of hidden treasures because we probably share 30% or more of the same parts and because I am a sponsor for other forums I thought the combined knolege would be beneficial for enthusiasts and manufactures of after market parts.

Energy Suspension is coming out with a bushing kit for the xB. It should be out by the end of the summer. They are R&D'ing my car. Right now, I got 90% of the prototype bushings on my car. I'm waiting on one bushing for my front control arm to be finished up soon.

I did search and there is nothing for the xB as of yet.

Are they available at autozone like you said or is bB384 correct in saying that they are still prototyping phase and not available as of yet.

Wait till the end of summer and find out. Or better yet call Energy Suspension yourself (949) 361-3935 Ask for Brian in R&D, he can confirm that they already have a car prototype the kit on. The owner's name should be the same as the name in my sig (Kevin).

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...rgy+suspension

had mine in for about 3 months (sold my car) ic ant comment about there effects though since i did the bushings, TRD Shocks, S-Techs and 17in wheels/tires all in the same day. the car was totally different when i was done. but for 12 bucks (plus some new grade 8 bolts) it cant hurt. Plus just looking at the stock bushings will make you happy you did it. after 15k miles mine looked like they were ready to be replaced.

Yes I fitted my spyder with the Superpro bushings and I like them very much. I think they are better then the Energy suspension bushings I have used in the past.

My car handles like its on rails now and I have a new car ride. The steering is very presise and has a great feel to it.

You will need a ball joint seperator like this one to remove the A arm http://www.thepartsbin.com/cartools/..._puller-d.html

The big bushing is the hard one as it needs to be drilled out and then the metal casing needs to be cut. I used a dermal with Rotozip attachment and it was easy until my battery went dead so I used a hack saw and it was a real pain because the metal is very tough.
After it was done then then the bushing just needed to be pressed in.

The smaller spool like bushing kept popping out so I went to the hardware store and made my own tool using a bolt, screw and many washers and was able to push in by screwing in the bolt on the other side of the arm thereby forcing the bushing into the hole. This tool worked out great and was easy to use.

If anyone wants to do this for their XB then just order these two sets of bushings for the front as they should work.

^^ thanks for the info. i will look into it., but later. got other things to do like straightening the front passenger wheel. the caster is down by one degree

speaking of control arms, do you know of any way to get more caster? (not to correct my frame, but for better turning) somebody on another forum suggested ovaling the upper strut mount holes.

i just saw this:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...02002%20TOYOTA
i thought that it was a typo, but the company claims that the product does adjust caster. i will try to contact somebody to find out how next week.

That bolt looks like it only adjusts camber and not caster. I have Tein coilovers on my Spyder with camber plates.
I would not worry about your caster being off by one degree but if you wanted back to spec you can replace the bushings that I mentioned and it could bring it back.

I have made a tool and a DVD that will go on sale shortly so that you can remove and install bushings without a press for $25 shipped.

It has taken me a very long time to figure this one out because I needed the tool to be as simple as possible. I have spent days in the hardware store with the control arms trying to find what works and It is done now.

The new prototype is fantastic and simple. There is no need for a press, or a blow torch as this is tool that I created takes less time then a press and is far easier to do. If I had this tool earlier I could do the whole car in one session. The only thing required is a drill and a small hack saw.

I dont know what your rear control arms are like on the XB but I know you can use the kit I provide for the front and possibly for your rear as all the kit would need is a slight modification that you can pick up at any hardware store.

This is geared for the MR2 Spyder but it can apply to both.

The chapters will be as follows;
1. Rear lower control arms and toe arm bushings.
removal.

2. Rear trailing arm bushings
Removal

3. Insertion of Superpro bushings into all rear control arms.

4 Removal of Front Control Arm Inner Front bushings
A. Insertion of Superpro bushings.

5. Removal of Front Control Arm Inner Rear bushings.
A. Insertion of Superpro bushings.

I will have this for sale on my website shortly.

Thanks
dev

I have finished the tool and DVD but I had to raise the price.

It is intended for the MR2 spyder but you can apply it for the front control arms and most likely the rear control arm but I dont know at this point because I have not seen them for the XB but non the less it just might need a small modification to the coupler for the tool that I am providing.

Anyway you can purchase it here.
