But Overall for the price a good suspension product

all this brace talk got me to order the tanabe rear brace for $194 shipped. hoping to have it in time for an hpde next week.

by the way, i recommend aluminum braces for under the car because they will not rust. i have had problems with the rusting of after market parts that fit under the car. winter salting does not help.

nm i guess aluminum rust is a good thing
found this article on popular science about it

http://www.popsci.com/popsci/how20/0...cbccdrcrd.html

"But when aluminum rusts, it forms aluminum oxide, an entirely different animal. In crystal form, aluminum oxide is called corundum, sapphire or ruby (depending on the color), and it is among the hardest substances known. If you wanted to design a strong, scratchproof coating to put on a metal, few things other than diamond would be better than aluminum oxide. "

Proctorsilex, where did you order your Tanabe rear brace from. I have been trying to find a shop that has it in stock. I even called Tanabe directly and was told that the product was not in stock with a mid August ETA.

Looks awesome, Gardiner. How does it make the car feel? Also, what is the Megan Racing one made out of? Steel or aluminum?

can someone please tell me :

Is the front , or the rear chasis brace more noticable / worth-wild ?? ... or are the equal effectiveness ??

Also, if a rear-Anti Sway bar is installed, and later if a rear chasis brace wanted to be installed.. is there any conflicting mounting/ space issues with having them both hooked up in the rear ??

Thanks in Advance.

I would say the front is way more worth while. The front of the car is where the most weight is and the cornering forces tend make the chassis flex.

Is this front part of the sub-frame, where the brace is located, mounted on rubber?

Yes, I'm fairly certain the front of the brace would then bolt onto rubber mounting points, and the outer(two points on the back of the H-brace) would then bolt to the chasis of the car.

I was mainly asking, in regards which is more of a cost effective approach to stiffening the chasis. The rear chasis brace looks to be $175-200 ... depending upon who you go with.

Anyone else ??!!

what is the "rear" chassis brace ?
front, are you saying the one in the engine bay or the one under the car ?
clarify which ones you're referring to, and maybe we could get a better idea?

The front Brace is the one pictured at the top of this thread- BLUE , and goes underneath the front of the car.

The rear brace is seen here:

... also TRD makes one

yeah no rubber involved in installing lower arm bar (front).
front is much more cost effective and adds more to the handling that the rear frame brace.

What I was asking is, if the part of the front suspension that the brace bolts to has rubber between it and the vehicle sub-frame. I know the brace has nothing other than the brace involved.

I made one of these for my old car and I will make one soon for my XB.

The front suspension looks pretty well designed on these cars. I think there is alot of potential for the handling modifications.
