Default Why am I not as low as some people?

i am on Tein SS Coilovers and as far as i can remember they are all the way down, yet my rear end is not sitting as low as some people running coilovers are...

i did manage to become baby hulk when installing the Tein rear shocks and broke one of the threads off so i was forced to use stock shocks instead...

could it be the shocks preventing me from getting as much of a drop as i should? if that is the case, does anyone recommend a good shock for back there, i looked for some Toxic Shocks but it dont look like they make them for the xB...

does anyone know where i could get just one Tein Adjustable Damper Shock and how much it would be, or how much just a new set of the Tein rear shocks are and where to buy from...

any help would be greatly appreciated

You could always pull out the spring perch in back.

Sounds like the shock has bottomed out just as you suspected.. either one of these will do the trick.

After I installed mine I parked my B next to another with the same springs and stock shocks. He stated the Konis looked like the drop was an extra half inch in the front.

After I installed my Koni's I didn't notice an additional drop. I'm hopefully going to be swapping my springs soon so I will measure the Koni's vs. the OEM shocks I still have. I'll try to remember to post up if there is a difference.

You might be able to get help from tein directly, either have them repair your broken shock or purchase just one from them...

Honestly, if being low is why you got the coilovers you got the wrong set.

tein coilovers have a comfy ride and are nice, but they just dont go NEAR as low as:

Cusco, HKS, k-sports, or D2s

if you really want to be low you should see if you can trade for a set of those.

...or mabye tein sells shorter springs for their coilovers (I know tanabe does), but I have never heard of anyone doing this with teins.

Coilovers aren't designed to simply slam a car. They are meant to improve ride quality or improve handling. Yes, there is such a thing as too low in terms of performance, if you honestly want to slam it (BTW: this is the only time I am actually suggesting this) air bag it. Using shorter springs will cause a negative effect on handling by decreasing the stroke of the actual shock (unless it was re-valved for its intended purposes) and in some cases might make the car harder to drive, unsafe, or prematurely wear out the shock...

Correct^ except if you want to be as low as possibly and have good drive-ability coils are the choice. Air bags for me are not durable enough and can leave you stranded

I agree, Air bags will never be good enough in my book, But people need to know that when you want a car to be slammed and still want to drive it safely there will ultimately have to be a compromise in drop.
