Will i need Shims?
I'm buying some 16" x 7" Rota Circuit 8's.
Apparently they come with Falken Ziex 512 rubber : 205/50/16
I have some goldline springs on the way as well. thats about a 2" drop, right?
anyway, will i need shims or anything else?
and are these tires good?
TIA guys

I'm no expert on this, but I think whoever is able to help you will need the offset of your wheels in order to make an educated guess.
As for the tires, I'm running the same model in 17's and I like them.

since it's a ROTA and since it's only a 7" wide rim i'm going to assume the offset is a FWD setup (high offset) so yes, you could get shims if you prefer. you probably don't NEED them but it'd probably help for aesthetic reasons.
depending on how far you wanted to space out the rear wheels will depend on which one you should get (10mm, 15mm, 25mm or other).

I'm no expert on the fitment issue, so I'll let somebody else handle that question.
As for what a shim or spacer does, it moves your wheels & tires more toward the outside "edge" of your fender so the wheels/tires sit more flush with the edge of your fenders.

I'm running Rota Track-R's with those same dimensions. I had 25mm spacers and the wheels rubbed the fenders. I know someone who has the sames size as us and he's using a 15mm spacer without rubbing issues. Eventually, I'll get 15mm spacers for the rear. As it stands, it looks like the wheel is recesseed too far into the wheel well. The spacers will bring the wheel closer to the edge of the fenders as Storm13 said. There could be a performance increase in handling, but probably not noticeable. It's pretty much asthetics as mentioned above.

A stiff rear sway will correct any harm the rear spacers did (if any). The rear sway is a must anyhow for one who care about handling.

In all reality, if you can't tell the difference appearance wise, you probably shouldn't get them. It is sublte. Save the money for some other upgrade.

Not to go off topic, but breifly, is the rear sway "that" noticeable? I was thinking of getting one, but I heard it's not that great. Also, what brand?
