Wilwood Brake Upgrade !!!
Just wondering what you guys think about this, I know its a good thing to have better brake system but how about the rear, wouldn't upgrading the fronts and leave the rear stuck be kind of un-safe. Just your thought, take care All Sean
why...???
upgrading the rears only would be unsafe. that would cause the rears to lock up (yes i know we have ABS but it still locks up for a breif second before ABS kicks in). the rears locking up would cause the car to fish tail or spin out....
plus any good brake upgrade will include a proportioning valve for the rears...

I think the OEM brakes are good enuff for everyday driving and the occasional jaunt on the track. But, if I was to start auto-x'ing, I would at least upgrade to Hawk pads, SS brake lines, and syn brake fluid.
The rotors themselves are nice and thick. If anything, slot or drill the OEM rotors.
Most just do the upgrade to fill the opening from going to 18-19 inch wheels.
Not if the engine had twice the hp, then I would look into some sort of brake upgrade.
I would stay away from Wilwoods myself. I have a buddy racing in the Speedvision series and DNF'd three times cuz of his Wilwood brakes. That's just me.

i'd get brembo's too, but for now i'm ok with the stock brakes. I would like a aem or rotora upgrade if they're not too expensive when my stock brakes wear out or something.
Thanks for the info guys, I can order the Wilwood setup for very good price by using my dealer discount so I was thnking about it, but in second thoght I still want to run my 16 which I don't know if it would be possible with that upgrade
!!! Thanks again Sean
or mike you could be like tavies, run 14in willwood with 6 piston in front 14in with 4 piston in rear..... heheh that car stopped un-nervingly fast it was almost scary how much brake he had
