Default **chrome on import cars=ricer?**

so me and my friend were discussing about import cars and he said that if u put chrome wheels on an import car besides a show car than ur considered a ricer... i disagreed
i showed him a picture of a supra that comes stock w/ chrome wheels chrome.

also i showed him the nitto tc show car.. u guys know the show car w/ the huge chrome 20's

in my opinion noe of these cars are ricers.. im sorry but he thinks that if u put chrome wheels on a car other than stock and its an import than ur considered a ricer.
please guys help me prove him wrong. i know alot of u guys have chrome wheels either on ur box, xa, or tc... i was thinking about gettn them too.

what u guys think?

he also said that is ricer vbecause ur a daily driver and that chrome flakes when u curb it which i agree... but sum boxes ive seen can pull it off and shouldnt be considered ricers cuz they rock sum chrome wheels... if anything theyre way more expensive than alloys.

i know hes wrong about this one

how does ricer have anything to do with chrome? I would associate chrome more with "pimping" LMAO, actually im not a big fan of chrome, but on some cars it looks good, its all personal preferenece. some people misuse the term, and this is a good example

i just think he likes putting cars down... maybe makes him feel better.
i mean i understand like puting sum 17inch chrome wheels on a celica or sumthing would look horrible, especially w/ a huge gap but still, an xb is an import and some of the best ones ive seen have has chrome wheels on them. not ricers at all!!!

Mehh, come back and read this in a couple of years. I am not saying you are young or a kid or anything, but I have deffinately been there with discusions like this. Turns out the reason there are a billion different rims, and cars to choose from is because we all like our own flavor, and we are not communists here in the good old U.S.A. If you like it ,then like it. It's not your job to be confirmed ny your friends, cause in the end you like what you like because you are you. Live and be happy. :D The little petty stuff just don't count. Now I am off to re-read this post and take my advice.

i mean i understand u and all... im not gonna buy rims that other people agree would look good on my car, cuz then i wont get what i like. i understand that some people would like advice on "which rims looks better" or what color etc.
i do this too and its always good to get a second opinion but let it just be that.
an opinion.
cuz like u said
in the end you like what you like because you are you
and i agree.
i wasnt going to get chrome rims in the 1st place because im known to curb my rims and it wouldnt work out for me.
im just saying its people like this that make me mad. people that "over use" the word ricer.

I don't give him that. This is a silly thread. Unless God Himself came down and said "That, My son, is rice." who cares what anyone thinks. Get the biggest blingin' chrome wheels you can stuff in your wheel wells.

Chrome accents and wheels actually started out on American muscle cars anyway, so it's about as far from rice as a big-block V8.

agreed.
i think this guy could not come up with the proper term for something that does not look right, i would say "man that looks like $hit" not, uhhhhhh yeah that is rice, like the man says, chrome origininated on american cars, and is used widely on harleys, and other american cars and such, and i doubt a harley is rice.

What about black chrome, SBC, mirror polishes?

Rice cannot be quantified........Rice is a state of mind....
