Default 17 x 7.5 ADR M-Classic w/ 215/45R-17 tires on an xB

Has anybody put 17x7.5 wheels (40 offset) on an xB with 215/45R-17 tires on an xB? And if so, what has your experience been as far as rubbing, etc? I really do like these M-Classic wheels and would like to throw them on the box soon here without spacers or anything and would like to get as much feedback as I can so I can make an educated purchase. Thanks for the help.

That combo will fit just fine and shouldn't rub down to a 2 inch or lower drop even. The tire is just a little bit big but not as big as my 215/40/18 on 7.5 rims with a 42MM offset and mine do not rub except at full lock turn on the inside (your combo likely will not rub here as you will have 2MM more clearance than mine).

Default rims

Axis gold reverbs 17X7.5, Tanabe NF 210 springs.

I have that size, it does rub a little when turning sharply in the middle
of the plastic fender well. I think it also depends on the tire style,
whether the tread goes around the outside of the tire. Once the plastic/
tire got worn enough it quit.

The ADR M-Classics are 17x7.5 with a +45 offset in the 4x100 bolt pattern.

I'm looking to get the same wheels towards the end of April.

What color wheel are you getting?

I'm getting silver to go on my Shadow Mica. I'm going to run 215/40R17s, though.

Here's a little update. I've got 17x7.5s in my garage. They are not on the car because they hit the chassis in the rears. Shims will be needed to run this wheel. If you can get a 5mm shim or 5mm spacer with longer studs, you will clear, but they will not fit without some type of add on.

True that a 42 MM offset is about as much as will fit without spacers. 5MM spacers in the rear should fit them. I would think that 5MM in the front would be ok too. 10MM spacers front and rear would be better perhaps. With 5MM you shouldn't need longer studs unless the wheel center is very thick. with 10MM spacers you might.

Well, I had some 5mm spacers lying around the house, I threw them on there, but I just wasn't confident in the amount of thread exposed. I got, maybe, 2 and a half turns out of my lugs.

I'm going to pick up a set of shims for the back. Ted, is it undeniable that the fronts will rub with +45 on a 7.5? I'd rather not have to get longer studs and spacers for the front, but if they are going to rub for sure, there isn't much I can really do.

I don't have my tires mounted yet; so I can't find out for myself.

I would say yes. 42MM's rub slightly at full left or right turns, 45's will rub a little sooner. The 42's rub forward of the wheel on the subframes. With 45's they might also rub in a similar spot behind each wheel as well.

FYI, the wheels did touch the frame just barely in the rear, but it was just a small piece of metal that was used in the production of the vehicle so I ground it off, no big deal, 20 minutes of work.

Do your fronts rub? Are you lowered? Running spacers?

I'd really rather not run spacers. I looked into the OTG/Keoki shims, too. OTG won't be availible until "mid-May" and I've never really heard anything about Keoki.

He told me that his were just like OTG's but his weren't nickel-plated. Any advantages of nickel-plating?

Less corrosion of the shim or spacer with the nickel plating I would assume.
