Default 18's or 19's for xB? NEED HELP!

Hi all,

I am in need of help and suggestions.

I have a stock 05 xB Polar White and I want to lower my box and put some shoes on it. I am shopping for Springs, wheels and tires at this time and was wondering what would be the best setup for both 18's and 19's.

What would be the best size wheels and offsets for both 18 and 19's. Tire size and spring combo.

Will I need spacers for the setup you suggest so the wheels are flush with the fenders and no rubbing?

My ideal setup would be 19's If I can get away with it lowered without rubbing or modifications. I am trying to avoid rubbing and them 19's looks awesomely good! If I have to settle for 18's it will not be a problem. how low can I go? I just want to get the right stuff and not regret any wrong doings.

If you have pics please post them or let me know your suggestions.

Thanks in advance

the sets of wheels I am looking at are these sizes.

19x7.5" +45mm offset
18x7.5" +45mm offset

will I need spacers for these 2 sets?

Will they rub? especially the 19's

What size tires should I run with them?

What kind of springs and how low can I go?

I am seeking your suggestions. If you have a better size or offset for the combo? please advise. Thanks...

I would suggest you decide what is more important to you, lowering the vehicle or larger wheels. If lowering, decide which spring manufacturer you want to go with and how much you are going to lower the vehicle. Once lowered, you will then know exactly how much space you will have for your new tires and wheels. If the tires and wheels are more important, select your package and mount them up. This will allow you to determine how much you can safely lower the vehicle.

I would say go with the 18's. I have 19's and they are so easy to crack and you have to drive all slow on every bump.

Tein s tech or the Goldline.

Both springs are good. S Techs dont go as low and will ride better because there is more travel in your suspension. They also dont have as many dead coils in the rear so it will ride better.

I agree with Roger. Decide if you want big wheels or if you want to be low. With 19s you pretty much have to run a 215/35/19 and that tire will raise your car an inch because it is an inch taller than stock. So, you lower the car 2" and then raise it 1" with the wheels. hrmm............

You will be able to fit a 19" wheel with just about any spring on the market given that your offset is fine.

I know for a fact that a +45 offset will rub the frame in the rear, I had this problem. Easy solution, get the OTG rear shims.

So, see what you want more, big rims or to be slammed, and go from there. I chose to be a little lower and go wtih 18s and RS*R springs. The look is perfect IMO. I think a 19" wheel looks like "too much,"

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I finally made up my mind with the rim size.

18x8 Axis Decades with maxis lip system
offset: front 40mm rear 35mm
215 35 18 rubbers.

OTG 10mm Shims in the rear
Tanabe DF210s Springs
TRD shocks.

Rubs in the rear passenger side. bumps and high speed over dips.

Had to roll rear fenders ALL THE WAY for it not to rub.
