Anyone have any comments. I plan on ordering the wheels before thce car gets here so I just wanna make sure I won't have any rubbing issues.

Oh the wheels are 7in wide.

i'm not sure how much of the sidewall will be bulging, but I'm running 205/40-17s on a 7 inch wide wheel w/42 offset, and I barely have 1/4" clearance in the rear.

I think Randode is running 215s, and he barely has 1/8".

Crap. I might end up doing a 215/50 which is the route I don't want to do.

That doesnt sound right. I ordered 215/35/18 42 offset for 18's and People on this site said that should fit with no problem.

I know the 225 on a 7in wide won't be a problem because we have it on one of our sponsored cars. I just wanna make sure they won't rub and if they do what needs to be modified to fix that problem. The real issue is that we have a large East Coast show in May so we need to have at least 90% of the parts in for the Xb before we even get the thing. (Arriving in Febuary)

I had 225x40x18s on 18x7.5 wheels with 42mm offset lowered 2" with spy springs and the front rubbed on full turn and also on those nasty freeway/road dips/bumps. I ended up changing the fronts into 215/35/18s. No more rubbing in the front.

Thanks I think I'm just gonna do a 215/45/17 since I'm within the 3% diameter change. Thanks for the help.

Hmm, I was thinking about doing 2xx-40-18 on my setup, how much are you lowered? Do you know if the speedo gets thrown off if I go with the 40?

Ordered car not here yet. I'm on the east coast. Reason I was asking is because we have to get the car ready in 1 month upon recieving it since we are using it as our 2004 show car. We plan on lowering it with eibahcs. I know th saturn performance site has a tire calculator that will give you speed readings for different tire sizes.

it should be ok. if it does rub on the rear, the part that rubs can be ground down, or you can run like a 5mm spacer.
