ok what you do now is get some tires handy and roast these and put them in the sport compact car mag for the burnout of the month. make sure you give shoutouts to ScionLife!

The tires aren't going to last long. Their too soft, thats why they grip so good on dry pavement. The treadwear rating is 160 I belive which is really crappy. I would be supprised if they last anywhere past 20,000. I don't think there a chance they will go 25,000.

Mine are like lonewolf's, I got over 15,000 and they still look new. I figure I'll get at least 50,000 on 'em.

On my 11/04 built xA, they're Bridgestone RE92's here in So. Cal.

Still, sucky tires according to tirerack.com, they're <6.9 rated tires and people on Maxima's who get them OEM as well are BEGGING people to run away from these tires like the plague for the poor dry & esp. wet performance.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....l=Potenza+RE92

---

Daily driving wise, they're okay, a bit noisier than a good tire, but otherwise decent for the OEM thus far (haven't had a chance to try them wet yet). But haven't pushed them to their limits yet (still in break-in period on my xA).

Default Most miles on stock tires

I found a couple of 3 year old post but nothing recent. Just wondering how many miles people are getting on their stock tires(XB).

I have 32k and they still look new but I do about 99% freeway.

Im at ~19K miles, and the tires still look new.

I think rotation plays a HUGE part in how long they last, followed closely by your driving style.

Thanks for that Rally....

I replaced the stock alloys and Goodyears on the xB at about 30-35K. I only did it to put on the Fliks.....I then put the stock alloys and GY on the xA. The xA then had maybe 15K and now has like 27K....The GY are doing fine...at maybe 45K total.

I'm running the xA steelies right now on the xB, as I busted one of the Fliks....the thinner tires had some screeching on the xA.....but alot on the taller xB....

my stock Bridgestone Potenza Tread wear rating 160 are at the tread wear indication marks right now. Only 20,000 miles 50% highway 50% city gas saving driving style. I'm using what little tread that's left between the tread wear marks and racing slicks for Denver's blizzards because of broken wallet. Wish me luck

I don't know if this is the record or not. I have 44,708mi on my original stock tires. They are OEM: Goodyear Eagles LS P185/60R/15 on stock steel 15" rims. I Purchased my 2006 TCM xB w/Auto in Oct. 2006. I will drive something around 40,000 miles a year, so I need a car that is Cheap and Dependable such as xB 1st gen.

How does one drive 40k a year?

Easy. I am a Sr. Field Engineer for a big company and go all over the North Bay Counties in N. Calif. The company permits one to use a personal vehicle as the Company Vehicle. I get reimburse money based on the daily rate on a monthly basis. In fact, it is like a Free Car. My reimbursement pays for all the gas, insurance, car repairs (basically, none so far) and expenses and have money leftover. People call it a toaster. I call it a Money Maker.

The car is basically stock. All I have are appearance mods. The engine is stock. The springs, suspension are stock.

My only Secret for long tire life on the stock Goodyears is I Rotate the tires every 5k along with my 5k oil change with Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w-30w Oil. That's It.

If How ones Drives, Makes a Difference:

I don't tell the company but I do 75-80mph in the No. 1 Lane half the time all day long (actually that is kinda slow sometimes in the Fast Lane, I get people tail-gating me and blowing past at 90+. But, that is another story) and I drive the City Streets and Burbs the other half. Say, about 20k freeways and 20k city a year. It is also my weekend ride and daily grocery getter.

If any one wants to know, I still have a lot of meat left on my tires. My guess is it looks like another 40,000mi. left on the tread. I don't know what the original warranty is or don't care because I already got my money's worth.

Actually, I am PO it is taking so long to wear out my tires! I want to get Custom 17"Chrome Wheels w/low profile tires. But, then, I think I can forget about long miliege on my tires. Oh well, you can't have Everything.

Just my True Story, FWIW
